Bombay Bites

Serving Indian food in Noodle boxes is just one of the ways Bombay Bites have been delighting customers. Their ‘taster trays’ and ‘try before you buy’ options ensure customers get their perfect combinations. They also make all of the Chutney’s in house.

Ahmed Wahid, chef at Bombay Bites in Leicester, said: “It’s been a brilliant year for Bombay Bites. I still can’t believe that millions of people have seen me cook and sing on X Factor and now we’ve won Best Takeaway in the East Midlands. My wife also had a baby this year so my life has changed in so many ways for the better. I want to thank our loyal customers for their support and I am so excited for 2018, bring it on.”

Joe & ‘Za

New to the British Takeaway Awards this year, Joe & ‘Za say they spent months in Italy learning the traditional way of making pizza, before fusing traditional and modern techniques together to create their unique taste. Advocates of preventing food wastage they use the “Too good to go” app which offers unsold food to people at a lower price.

Eastern Cuisine

Eastern Cuisine in Crystal Palace have attended the awards three times now- having been both finalist and regional winner in the past. Their signature dish is Garlic Gujurat which consists of chicken slow cooked for six hours. They scored a mystery shopper score of 100%- an incredibly impressive feat.

Sharif Ahmed, Owner of Eastern Cuisine said: “We are so shocked to have won and have once again, retained the title for Best Takeaway in South London. I am thrilled that my hard working team have got the recognition they deserve.”

Moja Indian Takeaway

After being nominated for the last two years Moja from Stockton-on-Tess can celebrate tonight as winners. The restaurant offers traditional Indian dishes with the star of the menu being their Chicken Korma signature dish. They also have added their own inventions to the menu including ‘Moja Special’ and healthy options including ‘Moja Salad’.

Mohammed Rahman, owner of Moja said “we are so excited to have won best takeaway in the North East. We have worked very hard to offer an authentic Indian and Bangladeshi food offering and friendly service that customers will love, so this is such an achievement for us.”

Brunch

In the last year Brunch have had to increase their number of delivery drivers and open for longer hours to meet demand. During the Manchester Arena bombing, the money for all sales of their slushies were donated to the victims via the Red Cross.Brunch also raise money for charities including Alder Hey Hospital, Diabetes UK and the Whiston Gardening Club.

Sharon Carline, founder of Brunch said: “It’s a bit of a shock to win for a third time, it feels pretty fantastic and we’re so overwhelmed. We would like to thank our local community and all the support they’ve given us year on year, and we’re so excited for 2018”.

Nico’s Pizza & Pasta

With a mystery shop score of 100% many of the recipes at Nico’s Pizza Pasta have been passed down the owners family for generations. The restaurant travelled to Verona to invest in the highest quality pizza ovens and they now successfully run three stores.

Kristian Nicoló, owner of Nico’s Pizza Pasta said: “It’s a bit of shock to win for a second time, it feels pretty fantastic. We would like to thank our local community and award winning staff for all the support they’ve given us, we couldn’t have got here without them.”

Mr Chef

Mr Chef in Wishaw is the only restaurant in the country to offer an Egyptian Garlic King Kebab. With a hugely interactive social media presence the restaurant have over eight and a half thousand likes on Facebook and scored 100% in their mystery shop.

Wasim Arshad, Owner at Mr Chef in Scotland, said: “We’re over the moon to have won Best Takeaway in Scotland.This award is for the people of Wishaw and is a testament to the hard work and dedication to the team at Mr Chef has shown to provide the best possible food and service for our customers.”

Chicken & Blues

This is Chicken and Blues first entry to the British Takeaway Awards and they head back to Bournemouth as regional winners. Their chicken is hand rubbed, marinated for forty-eight hours, then oven roasted and BBQ’ed. Their secret marinade includes thirteen different spices and their loyalty club has fourteen thousand members.

Steve Crawford, Owner at Chicken and Blues in South East, said: “It feels absolutely amazing to have won, I wasn’t expecting it at all. I have to thank the people in our local community who have given us so much support and the team at Chicken & Blues for all their hard work. We’re so proud to be bringing this award back to the people of Boscombe.”

Nacho Cheese

Finalist two years running at the British Takeaway Awards- Nacho Cheese offer friendly, relaxed and personable service to both new and regular customers. Almost the whole menu is offered in Gluten Free variation and they have created an innovative range of gluten free sauces including Cajun, Smokin Chipotle and Habanero with Ghost Chilli- sounds hot!

Lorraine Priestley, Founder at Nacho Cheese, in South West said: “We’re incredibly thrilled to have won Best Takeaway in the South West. We’re delighted for the people of Trowbridge who have supported us tremendously over the last few years. I’m so happy that the hard work of our wonderful team at Nacho Cheese have been recognised- this award is for them.”

Wiwo Noodle Bar

Wiwo Cardiff have now opened a third restaurant and have a very strong brand presence on social media. Their Egg Noodles continue to be their signature dish and they now offer a ‘build your own dish’ and have created a bespoke wok cooker, where customers can view their food being prepared.

Kash Munir, Co-Owner at Wiwo Noodle Bar in Wales, said: “We didn’t think we’d win for a third time so it feels absolutely amazing to have retained our title, particularly as the competition was so high this year. We work incredibly hard at Wiwo to deliver fantastic food and service consistency and it’s wonderful to get this recognition from both our customer and the takeaway industry.”

Lime Pickle

Finalists in 2015, winners of their region in 2016, tonight Lime Pickle are the Best Takeaway in Britain- with over one thousand customer votes and a mystery shopper score of 100%. Lime Pickle donated their winnings from last years award to the homeless and put up ten people in a hotel for Christmas

Lime Pickle launched the world’s hottest curry called “The Devil’s Dish” and gained press coverage across the country. Their head chef trained in Bangladesh to master the skills of authentic and traditional cooking techniques which they now combine with their innovative menu.

Owner of Lime Pickle Jay Alom said: “We are absolutely blown away that Lime Pickle has won Best Takeaway in Britain. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff for their hard work day in, day out, ensuring our customers receive the best food and service possible. We couldn’t have got here without them or our loyal customers. We’re over the moon.”

Pax Burger

Pax Burger have been praised for their casual dining experience, combined with fantastic food and providing an excellent home delivery service. They won the newcomer award in last years Yorkshire Life, Food and Drinks Awards and offer a wide range of gluten free, dairy free, halal, vegetarian and vegan meals.

Finalists in 2015, winners of their region in 2016, tonight Lime Pickle are the Best Takeaway in Britain – with over one thousand customer votes and a mystery shopper score of 100%. Lime Pickle donated their winnings from last years award to the homeless and put up ten people in a hotel for Christmas.
